Anthropic Files for Nasdaq IPO That Could Be the Biggest Ever, Revealing $16 Billion in First-Half Revenue

The maker of Claude will trade under the ticker ANT. Its prospectus shows revenue up roughly fourteenfold, an $80.7 billion first-half loss driven largely by accounting charges, and hundreds of billions in compute commitments.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 27 (TodayViralUSA) — Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude chatbot, has publicly filed to go public on the Nasdaq under the ticker “ANT,” setting up what could become the largest initial public offering on record and putting it ahead of rival OpenAI in the race to the stock market.

The San Francisco company filed its registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, after submitting confidential paperwork in June. It has not yet set the number of shares to be sold or a price range. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are leading a syndicate of more than 20 banks on the deal.

Explosive growth, enormous losses

The prospectus offers the first detailed look at Anthropic’s finances. Revenue rose roughly fourteenfold to $16.29 billion in the six months ended June 30, from $1.16 billion a year earlier. Full-year 2025 revenue was $4.59 billion.

The company also reported a net loss of $80.7 billion for the first half of 2026, though it said roughly $72 billion of that came from accounting charges tied to the rising value of convertible notes as its valuation climbed. It lost about $41.9 billion in all of 2025.

Anthropic said net revenue retention, a measure of how much more existing customers spend year over year, stood at about 900% as of Sept. 30. More than 11,900 enterprise customers each generated $100,000 or more in revenue over the trailing 12 months, and no single customer accounted for more than 10% of revenue in the first nine months of the year.

A massive bill for computing power

The filing shows how heavily the company is betting on infrastructure. Anthropic has committed to spend at least $110 billion with Amazon Web Services through 2036 and $114.5 billion on Google’s TPU chips through 2033, and it has agreed to pay SpaceX roughly $3.1 billion a month for Nvidia-powered computing capacity once fully delivered. Its non-cancelable purchase commitments rose to $265.6 billion by mid-year, from $54.6 billion at the end of 2025.

The company warned that failing to secure enough computing power could leave it behind the technological frontier, and listed risks ranging from reliance on Taiwan’s chip industry to local moratoriums on new U.S. data centers.

Control stays with the founders

Anthropic is organized as a public benefit corporation, and it described its governance structure as having “no direct public company precedent.” A vehicle called Founder LLC, made up of chief executive Dario Amodei, president Daniela Amodei and five other co-founders, will hold 50.1% of the voting power.

The prospectus also flags tension with Washington. The Pentagon designated the company a supply chain risk earlier this year, and Anthropic said that dispute could cause “material revenue losses.” A federal court in California ruled in the company’s favor, but an appeals court in Washington sided with the government, and litigation continues.

Testing a nervous market

The offering arrives at a jittery moment for AI stocks, with some data center operators losing more than 30% of their value this month. If it proceeds, Anthropic’s debut would follow SpaceX’s June listing, which raised a record of about $86 billion. The company said it plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including computing, hiring and possible acquisitions.
