NEW YORK, Oct. 27 (TodayViralUSA) — Three brothers who used their wealth and luxury-real-estate connections to lure, drug and rape women were each sentenced on Tuesday to 30 years in federal prison, ending a case that has drawn national attention since their arrest.

U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni imposed the terms on Tal Alexander, 40, and his twin brothers Oren and Alon, 39, in Manhattan federal court, seven months after a jury convicted them of multiple sex crimes, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. The sentences fall short of the life terms prosecutors had sought, but well above the 15-year mandatory minimums the defense requested.

“Your conduct was monstrous,” Caproni told the brothers. “Your crimes wreaked havoc on their lives.”

Victims speak in court

Before the sentence was handed down, women who said they had been attacked by the brothers addressed the court, many urging the judge to impose life in prison. One woman, Maya Miller, said she had lost all sense of safety after Tal Alexander raped her in 2014. “I carry a quiet funeral within me for the person I might’ve become if this never happened to me,” she said.

The three men showed little emotion and, in their own statements, continued to maintain their innocence. Caproni questioned how defendants who never acknowledged their wrongs could be rehabilitated.

The sentence in detail

Each brother also received 20-year terms on additional counts, to run concurrently with the 30-year sentences, as well as 10 years of supervised release and mandatory participation in sex offender treatment, ABC News reported. Oren and Alon Alexander were each fined $300,000 and Tal Alexander $350,000, with restitution still to be determined. Oren Alexander, who was also convicted of distributing sexual abuse material involving a 17-year-old girl in 2009, was ordered to pay an additional $50,000.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Espinosa had argued that none of the three was less culpable than the others and that they had spent years refining their methods of “luring women with the promise of luxury.”

From luxury brokers to prison

Tal and Oren Alexander became prominent luxury-property brokers in New York and Miami before founding their own firm, Official, in 2022. Alon Alexander worked at the family’s security company, Kent Security.

Prosecutors said the brothers spent at least 14 years exploiting their social status to prey on women and girls, with more than 70 women saying they were assaulted by one or more of the men in places including Manhattan, the Hamptons and Aspen, Colorado, according to Reuters. Defense lawyers argued at trial that the encounters were consensual.
