Paris Jackson Asks Court to Move $600 Million From Michael Jackson’s Estate Into Family Trust

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7 (TodayViralUSA) — Paris Jackson is asking a Los Angeles court to order $600 million moved out of her late father Michael Jackson’s estate and into a family trust for her and her two brothers, escalating a long-running fight with the estate’s executors over control of the King of Pop’s fortune.

In a petition filed Oct. 29, the 28-year-old singer and actress says the Michael Jackson Family Trust, set up to provide for her, Prince, 29, and Bigi, 24, has gone unfunded for more than 17 years even as the estate has generated billions of dollars since the singer’s death in June 2009.

‘Distributable cash’ at the center of the dispute

According to the filing, the estate held roughly $850 million in cash and cash equivalents at the end of 2024. Jackson’s lawyers say about $600 million of that remains available after accounting for debts and other potential liabilities, and they are asking the judge to order that sum, or another amount the court considers appropriate, transferred to the trust.

Under Michael Jackson’s estate plan, his children were to begin receiving trust income at 21, with portions of the principal released at ages 30, 35 and 40. The petition accuses longtime co-executor John Branca of keeping an “iron grip” on distributions, leaving the siblings to receive amounts set by the executors rather than the income their father intended.

Estate points to tax fight and its turnaround

The estate has said an unresolved federal tax dispute prevents it from fully funding the trusts. It has also rejected claims that Branca put his own interests first, citing his role in turning an estate saddled with about $500 million in debt into a business it now values at more than $2 billion.

The petition is the latest in a series of challenges from Jackson, who has also contested more than $109 million in estate-related compensation. Earlier this year, a judge sided with her and ordered $625,000 in 2018 bonus payments to outside law firms returned to the estate.

A hearing on the request is scheduled for Dec. 4, according to Hola! USA.
