WASHINGTON, Oct. 20 (TodayViralUSA) — President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are set to announce a $25 million program on Tuesday that would pay members of the public for tips on fraud involving federal programs and taxpayer money, the White House said, expanding the administration’s campaign against waste and abuse two weeks before the midterm elections.

Under the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program, or WHIP, anyone who submits a tip through fraud.gov that leads to a fraud conviction or a significant federal enforcement action will be eligible for a reward of up to $30,000, according to the White House. The Justice Department will run the program. Filing an allegation alone will not qualify a tipster for payment, a White House official told Fox News Digital.

The two leaders are scheduled to unveil the fund at a joint appearance in the Oval Office on Tuesday afternoon alongside the administration’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, which Trump created by executive order in March and placed under Vance’s leadership. The order directed agencies to coordinate efforts to uncover fraud, tighten eligibility checks and prevent improper payments.

‘Zero tolerance’

“Every day, President Trump’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud is zeroing in on the rampant abuse of taxpayer dollars and giving Americans the accountability they deserve,” White House spokesperson Lauren Bis said in a statement. “This administration has zero tolerance for individuals who steal from Americans.”

The program is aimed at both everyday Americans and independent journalists who flag suspected misuse of public money, the White House official said.

A check for Nick Shirley

During the event, Trump is expected to hand a $10,000 check to Nick Shirley, a right-wing influencer whose video last year alleged that Somali-run child care centers in Minnesota were collecting federal subsidies without serving children, the Associated Press reported.

The video drew the attention of the administration and conservative activists, though inspectors said the centers were operating as expected, according to the AP. Federal investigations, searches and arrests followed, and the White House has credited Shirley’s reporting with prompting a surge of FBI and Homeland Security resources into the state.

In July, Fahima Mahamud, the former head of one center featured in the video, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States, the Justice Department said. Prosecutors said she submitted false child care assistance claims worth more than $4.6 million and took about $850,000 through a federal child nutrition program connected to the Feeding Our Future scandal.

The announcement adds a cash incentive to a broader administration push against fraud in federal benefit programs, an issue Trump and Vance have pressed on the campaign trail ahead of the Nov. 3 elections.
