SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 7 (TodayViralUSA) — OpenAI on Wednesday began rolling out new GPT-6 models in ChatGPT together with a redesigned way of answering questions, which it calls Intelligent UI, that can weave interactive charts, buttons, forms and small tools directly into a conversation.
The company said GPT-6 Sol is rolling out globally to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise subscribers, while GPT-6 Luna begins reaching users of the free and lower-cost Go tiers on Thursday. The models follow the first GPT-6 releases last month and are tuned for everyday conversation, 9to5Mac reported.
Answers that you can tap
With Intelligent UI, ChatGPT decides on the format of a reply based on the question. A comparison might appear side by side, while an explanation of a complex idea might come as an interactive diagram. When a plain text answer is most useful, the chatbot will give that instead, according to OpenAI’s announcement.
For more involved prompts, ChatGPT can build widgets that let users adjust inputs and watch results change, and it can create simple tools inside a chat, such as calculators, bill splitters and games. In a briefing for journalists, OpenAI staff showed the system producing diagrams on the fly to explain abstract topics, TechCrunch reported. The company said the main goal is to make complex subjects easier to learn.
The visuals are adjustable: users who prefer fewer graphics will be able to dial them back, in the same way they can tune other aspects of ChatGPT’s personality.
Thinking while answering
OpenAI also said that with GPT-6, ChatGPT can begin responding while it is still reasoning, adding information progressively rather than waiting until its full thought process is complete.
A busy week for AI
The launch caps a crowded stretch for the industry. A day earlier, OpenAI published findings from an internal model on more than 300 open mathematics problems, a release that The Washington Post said has left researchers trying to make sense of the volume of progress. Google, meanwhile, opened its SynthID detector to the public this week, letting anyone check whether images, video or audio were created with its AI tools.
